Manchester United's Pre-Season Unbeaten Streak Ended
3-1 Defeat to Sporting Lisbon
Manchester United's superb pre-season winning streak has come to an end following a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Sporting Lisbon on Tuesday. Despite a strong start to the match, the Red Devils were unable to match the intensity and clinical finishing of their Portuguese opponents, who took a deserved victory in front of their home crowd.
Sporting took the lead in the 15th minute through a stunning strike from Matheus Nunes, who curled a beautiful effort into the top corner from outside the box. United equalized just before half-time through a Marcus Rashford penalty, but Sporting regained the lead in the second half through goals from Paulinho and Pedro Goncalves.
Manchester United's misery was compounded in the dying minutes when Diogo Dalot was sent off for a second bookable offense.
