Washington, D.C. - NBC News' Kristen Welker and her husband, John Hughes, have announced the birth of their second child, a baby girl. The couple, who married in 2017, is overjoyed with the addition to their family.
Welker, 46, announced the news on Instagram Saturday, posting a photo of herself holding the baby in the hospital.
"Our hearts are full as we welcome our precious baby girl to the world," Welker wrote in the caption. "We are so grateful for this amazing gift and can't wait to share our lives with her."
The couple's first child, a son named James, was born in November 2020.
Welker is the host of NBC's "Meet the Press." Hughes is a former Capitol Hill aide and currently works as a managing director at a private equity firm.
